Firmware is software that operates an electronic device. Keeping the firmware up to date on your wireless device will ensure that it delivers top performance. To upgrade the firmware on your LaptopConnect card, follow the instructions below. You may want to print these instructions or save them to a document on your laptop before starting. The firmware upgrade process typically takes about five minutes.
- Download the firmware to your laptop. This can be done while connected using your LaptopConnect Card or any other wired or wireless connection. Note the location of the folder where you save the file.
- Insert your LaptopConnect Card into your laptop if it has not already been inserted.
- Close the AT&T Communication Manager software.
- Double-click on the firmware file that you downloaded to your laptop in step 1. This will start the firmware upgrade process. Do not remove your LaptopConnect Card during the upgrade or otherwise interrupt the upgrade process, since doing so could damage your LaptopConnect Card.
- After the firmware upgrade process has finished, you may launch AT&T Communication Manager and connect to the Internet.
